Peter Jacobson
Principal, Portfolio Manager

Peter Jacobson, Principal and Portfolio Manager, co-founded Rhicon in 2001. Prior to founding Rhicon, Mr. Jacobson headed the European currency desk at Goldman Sachs International Finance in London, where he relocated to expand and develop the JPY currency desk for Goldman Sachs' International Bank in Tokyo. Mr. Jacobson previously worked at Swiss Bank Corporation in Geneva and at Citibank Sydney. Mr Jacobson holds a BA in Economics from the University of Sydney.

 

Christopher Brandon
Principal, Portfolio Manager

Christopher Brandon, Principal and Portfolio Manager, co-founded Rhicon in 2001. Prior to co-founding Rhicon, from 1999 to 2001, Mr. Brandon worked as a Proprietary Trader and as the Senior Technical Analyst in Asia for UBS Warburg Singapore, providing technical expertise to the bank's major institutional customers. Prior to that, Mr. Brandon worked as a Senior Currency Trader at SBC Warburg London and at Swiss Bank Corporation in Geneva. He holds an MA (Hons) in Economics from the University of Edinburgh.

Jonathan Wharton
Director, COO, Risk & Compliance Officer

Jonathan Wharton, Director,  is responsible for the firm’s back office operations team as well as Technology, Risk Management and Compliance. Jonathan joined Rhicon in 2003 as Operations Manager in London, and became a Director and the firm’s Compliance Officer 2008. He formerly worked at Goldman Sachs in the Equities division as a Client Services Analyst between 1999 and 2002. Jonathan holds an MA (Hons) in Art History from the University of Edinburgh. 

Erik Bjåstad
Portfolio Manager, Rhicon Strategic Program

Erik Bjåstad, Portfolio Manager, joined Rhicon in April 2014. Prior to joining Rhicon, Mr. Bjåstad joined Vattenfall Energy Trading in Stockholm where he traded FX and energy commodities on a proprietary basis, as well as managing the firm's FX risk arising from commodity trading activities. Previously, Mr. Bjåstad worked at Wilh. Wilhelmsen ASA, and Siemens in Oslo.

Xavier Stucki
Portfolio Manager, Senior Trader

Xavier Stucki, Portfolio Manager,  joined Rhicon in 2009. Prior to joining Rhicon, he spent 3 years at Pictet Asset Management in Geneva as a Portfolio Manager. In this role, Mr. Stucki was responsible for trading foreign exchange for the Global Bond team, focusing on intra-day trading with some longer term positions. Prior to that, Mr. Stucki was a Fixed Income Assistant at the same firm. Mr Stucki holds a Masters of Commerce (Finance & Banking) and a BA (Hons) from the University of Sydney. 

Kevin Chuah
Portfolio Manager, Senior Trader

Kevin Chuah joined Rhicon in 2011 as a trader on the execution desk and in 2012 started managing a proprietary book.  He started his career as a graduate on the FX desk at ANZ in Melbourne and soon became an FX trader at ANZ in Singapore thereafter moving to ANZ in Hong Kong trading HKD and CNH, and market making in G7 currencies.

Christopher Ellis
Portfolio Manager, Rhicon Currency Alpha Strategy

Christopher Ellis, Portfolio Manager to the Rhicon Currency Alpha Strategy, joined Rhicon in October 2018. He previously worked at Macquarie Investment Management Sydney Fixed Income as a Senior Portfolio Manager. His direct responsibilities included managing passive currency overlays, dynamic currency hedging and created the Short Term Currency Alpha (STCA) hedge fund. Prior to Macquarie, he held senior currency trading positions in Australia and London with ANZ Banking Corporation and RBC Capital Markets.
